Bharat Muni has given a very precise defination or understanding of art and it's applicability , he defined it as
"It is also notable for its aesthetic "Rasa" theory, which asserts that entertainment is the desired effect of performance arts but not the primary goal and that the primary goal is to transport the individual in the audience into another parallel reality, full of wonder, where he experiences the essence of his own."

This is so true , and can be applied to writing too, usually people think that fiction is opposite to reality or they say you gain experience and learn from reality and fiction is just wonder .

But it’s not true , just like when you want to look yourself , you go and look yourself in mirror , but the person in the mirror is not real but still you can see your reflection and identify the spots or just look yourself .
Just like that Fiction creates a parallel reality where you can find yourself because you cannot do that in reality , you are identified with so many label as son , or husband , or friend or , professional labels and above all we are more fake in real world and what we call as experience is merely a memory of our mistake , experiences are subtle , they are not adventurous, that’s the reason fiction makes sense it’s the deepest human expression which cannot be expressed in reality so we need a parallel reality to actually discover ourselves and look beyond . Not just knowing yourself but understanding yourself ,the problem with the world today is , it’s somuch busy in creating an identity for themselves, the originality of human is lost , no wonder why is this generation so screwed.
It’s the artist job to do that , the painters , the writers , poets ,musicians , actors , because God has given them the privilege ( iam saying God because I believe I have no rational explaination to why some people are artist , iam not convinced yet ) privilege to sit and observe and day dream and give the world a story or a poetry or music where they discover themselves .
